Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Getting my steering wheel refurbished soon and I'll be going with a suede rim per the GT cars. I've never seen one in the flesh, however, and online images can be deceiving so I wondered whether anyone could please confirm whether the colour of the suede / alcantara on the wheels of the GT cars is grey or black? Looks grey to me.
Also interested to hear what colour others who have done a similar mod to their 996s went for as I'm debating whether I should be matching the headlining in my C4S (black alcantara). The interior of my C4S is interesting in that the original owner spec'd black leather and grey carpets (really nice look IMO) which I guess allows me to go grey or black and still be following a theme. Car is Arctic Silver.
Hi. I believe the GT cars have a dark grey alcantara from factory. I had my wheel retrimmed in black alcantara, you can find pictures in my thread (link in my sig below). You might find your headlining is dark grey but looks black due to its position. Who are you planning to use for the retrimming?
Hi. Was also planning to use Jack at RSW. heard very good things on these boards and already had a quote from him, I just keep changing my mind so have held off for now. Also my daily so I need to time it for when I'm away!
Really like the look of yours.
Need to take another good look at my headlining I think but longer term am also thinking of retrimming the seat centres in alcantara so would like everything to tie in. At the moment I'm thinking the seat centres would look better in grey but then I think I'll likely change my mind again!
had my steering wheel retried by jack at RSW to be honest i didnt rate it and the wheel was sent back twice to rectify issues.
He did mine with porsche alcantara thats was black......my 996 roof lining looks black but is dark grey after all when you can see the black and grey at the same time.
Ended up selling the wheel as the quality of the re wrap just wasn't there for me, the extra thickness makes so much difference and well worth getting done if you go that route

He did my wheel to match my Agate interior with contrast deviated stitching and it looks factory. He's also a lovely young chap and Porsche owner!
I got mine done by jack at RSW, but when I tried to get one done for another car he was just incredibly difficult to get hold of. This puts me off incase I get any problems.
Plenty of others out there now.
Consider using Royal. Did mine recently in navy blue which matches very well with my metropol blue interior. Dark grey (anthracite) is normally used rather than pure black.
