Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have the DMS exhaust on mine (well sold and fitted by them, no idea who actually makes it!).
Leading evidence: 'Install by them, no idea who actually makes it' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'sport exhaust (and therefore refuses' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install by them, no idea who actually makes it' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I have a sports exhaust on my turbo and had a head gasket replaced on my car under warranty, as well as the coil packs.

Suspected cause
On the issue of whether a non-Porsche approved sport exhaust would invalidate the warranty, I was told by various indies that if anything goes wrong with the engine and if Porsche seeks to argue that the cause of the problem is the sport exhaust (and therefore refuses to pay under the warranty) then the onus would be on you to prove that the sport exhaust was not the cause of the problem.

Can anyone recommend a sports exhaust for the turbo?
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can anyone recommend a sports exhaust for the turbo? I love the sound of the C4S, in fact it was the one thing that nearly swayed me to buying one instead of the turbo, is there an after market exhaust which gives the turbo a "proper" sports car rasp? Also would changing the exhaust affect the warranty?
Thanks in anticipation....
Dunno what mine is, its not stock I know that. I recently had a visit to Anglesey I had the pleasure of belting through some tunnels and the sound was amazing.
I'll try upload some pics, I may have to put them on facebook as I cannot seem to upload them on here for some reason
Highly recommend the Fabspeed exhaust. It makes the 996TT sound as good as it can. No drone at all.
It comes in bits and you can install straight through pipes when u feel like it. These are VERY loud !
I have the DMS exhaust on mine (well sold and fitted by them, no idea who actually makes it!). 100 cell cats and the sports box make a good noise, not too much, but enough and also released an additional 30+ bhp out of my x50 on the stock map.

This could be difficult apparently. Frankly, I would not take the risk
I have a sports exhaust on my turbo and had a head gasket replaced on my car under warranty, as well as the coil packs. They did ask about the exhaust, I admitted it was aftermarket (it is obviously not standard!!), but what did it matter as the exhaust wasn't covered by warranty and Porsche didn't offer a sports exhaust option for the car, else I would have bought that.
They had no issues doing the warranty work, I may have been lucky though.
Just a thought, but I could be prepared to swap exhausts (+ cash my way!!), as the DMS system is probably worth more off the car than on it!
Any idea how much it costs to have an exhaust fitted on a 996 tt?
