Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Are there any tips out there for preventing light-grey leather in 996's from taking on that licourice color with use? When i bought my car with 30,000 miles it was licourice-free but over the last 12 month sit is showing definite signs licouricing. I have tried treating with Glipstone leather claener and conditioner but I wonder if taht is actually contributing to the problem?

POST 2Original post

Cracked and stiffening leather can really affect the overall appearance of your vehicle. This carefully blended emulsions contains soaps and natural oils, to protect and moisturise, replacing lost oils and preservatives which evaporate out of the leather. POST 3Original post

I'll second davepaul993's recommendation. Try Autoglym's Leather Cleaner http://www.autoglym.co.uk/enGB/product-proddetail.asp?v06VQ=FD&Range=1 before applying the cream - amazing the amount of dirt it removes.

Thanks guys; I will give it a try

POST 5Original post

Yep use it on mine too, same colour leather as yours Istanilban from the sound of it, use it regularly though helps it getting any worse Jon

POST 6Original post

Mister Clena Magic Eraser is apparently good - but I don't know as I have never tried it myself. Be warned though - it wears down worn leather like acid. I did however use AutoGlym products on my 964 - the results turned out pretty good.

POST 7Original post

Gliptone leather cleaner is excellent. I've never had any issues with it, and is my first port of call for when I need to clean up grubby leather. I personally favour Zymol Treat leather feed- I've tried many others, this seems to be the least oily and gives the most natural results. My seats still look new after 55k miles. Its also worth taking care of what you wear- denim jeans for example wear leather more quickly (and beware of metal studs, Armani labels etc on jeans). And finally, try to get in without sliding across the side bolster. Some might say life's too short, but it works for me!
