Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

Yes, you can put 265s on the 18" rear wheel (it's actually the recommended spec for winter tyres in the owners manual!)

Suggestion

The RMS seal is another weak point in the 911 engines fitted to 3.4 and 3.6L normally aspirated engines...unfortunately on a tiptronic you have to remove engine assembly to replace the seal, expect to pay £600-£700 from independant.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I've recently bought a 996 3.6 tip. It was ;ast serviced 5k miles ago (4 months). The dealer reported the following RMS leaking (no oil lost) Air con condensor leaking (air con works perfectly) Front control arms separating Would the air con still be working if the condensor has been leaking for so long? Anyone heard of front control arms separating? I am keen to get the warranty on the car but am likely to struggle with the RMS seal leaking- wonder if I could clean it off before the 111 check Also I am thinking of swapping the wheels to 18"- my old 3.4 used to have 265/35/18 whereas the later cars have 285/30/18- this seems excessivley large..would it be ok to stick with the 265s on 10" alloys

> would it be ok to stick with the 265s on 10" alloys I take it you mean 18"! Yes, you can put 265s on the 18" rear wheel (it's actually the recommended spec for winter tyres in the owners manual!)

POST 4Original post

Except that we're approaching summer now....! But 265's are good enough as GD says. I'd agree that 285's are a tad excessive if you're not in a GT3/C4S/TT etc. ~ Maxie

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks - What I am unclear on is, if the condensor has been leaking for so long, would the AC still be fully operating. How would the OPC detect a leak?

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
