Driving the carrera 4 2002 pretty hard and something went ,now its whining on increase of revs.it goes away when you turn off air con though. Had the gas recharged last week and was pretty cold and the machine found no leaks (no usual condensor probs).Since then the air con has become roasting! Should the pulley be turning all the time when the air con on? how much and where can I get a cheap new pump if required? please help im sweating my nuts off!!!!!!!!!

My air con was whining for ages figured I'd get it sorted eventually (it still worked, it was more of an annoyance), its now packed up completely on some of the hottest days of the year so far. It's booked in to opc solihul who quoted me around the £600 mark to get it fixed!
