Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I bought a spare one of these from ebay recently and have had mine done in Seal Grey (fitted by Sid from RSJ last weekend) and it looks great

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys n Gals I have been toying with the idea of painting the centre console in Arctic Silver so when I saw one for ale on eBay, I thought i`d have a go. Here`s what the original looked like As you can see, it was just the normal blue to match the metropole. It was not too bad to remove, with the help of some instructions from Damian ( thanks again mate ) although there are some well hidden screws. Here`s the new piece Anyway, took about half an hour and then another half an hour to switch the lock and oddments lid, swap all the retention clips and refit the fabric sides. You need to be pretty careful not to scratch the paint on the new console as it`s pretty tricky to get it under the front console and around the handbrake but with a little care...... I think it brightens up the interior no end and I may do a couple of other bits but we`ll see how it goes. Steve

POST 2Original post

Great job Steve! Those 'hidden' screws can be interesting

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Especially the one under the coin holder ! I`d never have found that without the instructions Steve

POST 5Original post

That looks great Jona :thumb: Really lifts the interior, i'm liking that alot.

POST 6Original post

Great job! I had mine done in Lapis blue, it really lifts the interior. I especially love the view when you open the door and see the continuation of the bodycolour inside the car. Slightly o/t, my handbrake is slightly fouling on the front of the slot since it was fitted- do I need to remove the entire console to adjust the fore/aft of the handbrake, or can I access the bolts by removing the side panel?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Did you move it during fitting ? Mine stayed where it was and I haven`t noticed any fouling. I think you could access it by the side panel but couldn`t be sure. I might do my spare one Lapis and see what that looks like. I might actually start doing a few and selling them via the bay. There seems to be a market for them. Steve

POST 8Original post

Yum! Lapis....I miss that colour so much [/img]

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks very nice, Not so sure it would stand out so much on a Metropole interior though. Looks good with the grey Steve

POST 10Original post

Think yourself lucky you havn't got the Bose sounds. The sub woofer has to be taken out and that can be a real pig to get back in.

POST 11Original post

the sub is in the back, no where near the centre console.......... :? anyone know if the artic silver colour matches the ali pack, or is that a different colour?

POST 12Original post

996 Bose sub is in the pasanger footwell alongside the centre console, hence having found out the difficulties- at least it was on mine.
