This is not a probability of success.

Getting ready to change the front brake pads yesterday morning and about to take the wheel off, starting with the lock nut but Ohhh nooo the lock nut special key split open so can not use it and cant get the wheels off (suspect it was because of the cold and the metal became brittle),

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there - help please. Getting ready to change the front brake pads yesterday morning and about to take the wheel off, starting with the lock nut but Ohhh nooo the lock nut special key split open so can not use it and cant get the wheels off (suspect it was because of the cold and the metal became brittle), Oh well - can do it later - any one out there know where I can get another locking wheel nut key from??? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Porsche Centres have a master set, and can supply a replacement key.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Brilliant Richard New I could count on you - any idea of cost? Thanks

POST 4Original post

Can't seem to find the price, I'm afraid. A complete set is about £45+vat, so something less than that, I would expect.

POST 5Original post

We have a number of these on the shelf, do you know what number you have? http://www.type911shop.co.uk/shop/article_7692-001/Porsche-Wheel-Locking-Nut_Bolt-Socket.html?sessid=R60WmTu603GHpSAdEh1CjzAT8kkIw34E0wDP2xzEEnse9kf0n8vjHZUlWUJDqthi&shop_param=cid%3D198%26aid%3D7692-001%26 Porsche price is about £25 + vat

POST 6Original post

Mine also split in the past. Thankfully they were original porsche. Took the split key with me and paid around £20 . If it was anything else I would have been stuffed.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Think im in the hands of Mr Porsche as theres no number on the socket and have no record of any number in the docs. Thanks all the same.
