I ended up replacing the Fabspeed mufflers I had with the stock OEM's with the internals removed and it sounds so much better.

I found a nice looking OEM set on Ebay and pulled the trigger.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just picked up a 2004 Carrera and it's got no mufflers (see picture). I think the way it's laid out I'm not going to be able to install an off the shelf kit, but I'm hoping someone here can point me in the direction of something that might bolt up OR mufflers I can weld in that sound decent (not sure I have space).
I have a new set of SOUL sport cats on hand and after much research decided to go with their mufflers. My hearing isn't the best and won't improve in my lifetime so additional dB's was important to me.

I'm one week into a six week backlog wait for the mufflers to arrive. I'm glad the aftermarket demand is this good but will be even happier when everything is strapped in place and I'm driving.
Im in the same boat, my newly acquired 02 has a muffler delete also, luckily mine still has the stock brackets and hangers because those are pricey for what they are. Are yours gone?
You mean the hangers on the sides of the engine right? I think some are there, but that's a good question, I'll have to go back under and take stock of what I've got. It looks like I can scoop up a set of OEM headers on the bay and build a system off of those.
Hold on I just looked at their page and I think I'm a fool and I'm just missing the mufflers, I thought I had some aftermarket system from the headers back. This might not be as bad as I thought.
Looks like you just need mufflers.
I have a set of billy boat mufflers that I don't need anymore.

They're definitely an upgrade over the stock, quiet mufflers but pretty mellow until you get into the higher RPM range. PM me if you're interested.
Here's a link to various sound clips of different exhaust systems:

I can vouch for the Billy Boat mufflers, that's what I have on mine and love the sound.
It looks like its got stock headers that may have been painted/ceramic coated black (if its regular paint it wont last long). Stock, or any aftermarket mufflers should bolt right up to the cats youll probably need new tips if you dont already have them Good luck
I was told it's jet coated so it should last for a decent bit. I'm honestly relieved that they're the stock headers and cats, that makes life much easier.
If you want a stock exhaust, you can find them pretty easily on marketplace. You need to determine what brackets are still in there. Use searchtempest.com and you can search nationwide.
I think stock is going to be too quiet, I was sort of hoping someone on here might throw out that they welded in a magnaflow or something and turned out great. Barring a budget option I'll probably just pony up for something nice.
Have someone cut stock mufflers in half. Gut them and reweld. Gives a very nice sound and much lighter. You can find my past posts on this modification.
Link, please? I can MIG or TIG. My left muffler has something loose rattling inside it anyway. The price of replacement or upgrade on these is preposterous.
Is there a difference on sound between Fister exhaus mod (I guess connecting inlet and outlet pipes with crossover) and PSE style connection without a valve (from top corner of silencer to exit pipe)?
I'm waiting to hear back on the fister mod. Seems like I'm looking at $650 for the mod + $800 for cores + something for tips which gets me in the same range as some other new options though. If I had my stock mufflers and tips it'd be a no-brainer.
I quickly looked for some mufflers on marketplace, I am in FL and I found a bunch near me. Use searchtempest and you'll find a bunch.

I found a nice looking OEM set on Ebay and pulled the trigger. If they're too quiet I can definitely modify, but as much as I was tempted $2700 for mufflers felt a bit strong.
I shot them an email at least a month ago and still havent heard back. My car has an old Fabspeed on it, so I dont have stock mufflers to send in either. The exhaust is old and I think one of the mufflers has a rattle to it, so Im looking at an OE+ type replacement.
Interested in hearing what you find out.
I've had all the hacks and Fisker sounds 1000% better then the Gundo which in my mind is (Gundo) a waste of money. Best bang for the buck is to open up the muffler and remove the internals if you want the best sounding mufflers without spending touch money. I ended up replacing the Fabspeed mufflers I had with the stock OEM's with the internals removed and it sounds so much better.
I tossed in the stockers from ebay that I found and honestly don't mind the sound level as much as I thought. I'd still like a smidge more though so they'll go off to fister for mods next winter.
We offer SOUL and Fabspeed options! Both have lifetime warranties and are high quality/built in the U.S. They'd only be about 15-20% louder then stock with no interior drone at low speeds so a perfect OEM+ upgrade. Let me know if you need a quote, i'd be happy to help.
