i can see from your reply that i have a choice of two atf fluids and was wondering if you know how many ltrs i will require for a complete change and if you know how i go about filling the box as the filler plug seems to be on the bottom of the box.

What Year is your car? 3.4 or 3.6? They have different boxes, and use different ATF. MY1998-2001 - 3.4 - ZF transmission: Mobil LT 71141 or Pentosin ATF-1 MY2002-2005 - 3.6 - MB transmission: Shell 3403-M115 of Fuchs 3353/3353 Plus You can mix Mobil and Pentosin, or Shell and Fuchs, but no other combination.

The capacity is 9.5 litres, BUT you will be lucky to drain 3.5-4.0 litres, as a lot is contained in the torque converter and won't drain. On the sump is one drain plug, plus a fill/level check plug. The level checking procees is very specific, and very dependant on ATF temperature. If you drop me an email, I'll attach the instructions to a reply.
