Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I noticed tonight that although I have sidelights and full beam I don't seem to have dipped headlights - unlikely surely that both bulbs would have failed at once - anything else likely to be a problem? It's a "fried egg" early 996 Thanks

POST 2Original post

Have you got litronics? Take it you've tried the fuse?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No they're the basic lights (are litronics xenons?) and looking at the fuse diagram I think there is a separate fuse for each headlight.

POST 4Original post

It would be best to remove one light and check the bulb. If that and the fuse are OK, my money would be on a dodgy light switch. It's a fairly common problem.
