Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Found it surprisingly difficult, so just in case anyone is about the same level of DIY as me (ie. not very good), please find the correct sequence! Pop off the rubber top (ie. the part with the buttons on it). Remove the circuit board Replace the rubber top with the new one Replace the battery Make sure the rubber band is in place around the main key head Click the circuit board back into the rubber part of the key <- important! Click the key back together If you put the the circuit board into the main key and attempt to push the rubber cap back on, you will find that it won't close fully. I was convinced I had broken the rubber part, but on closer inspection, I found you had to click the circuit into the rubber part first!!! The Targa rubber part is P996.637.351.00 and costs £15 + VAT. The battery was about £3. Cheers, GD

I'm needing one of those, where did you get them from. Asked at local opc and they quoted around £150, presumably to replace entire key

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

£150 is for a new key (+ reprogramming). This was from my local OPC (Guildford).

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
