Fairly new owner myself so cannot recommend different tyres as I'm still getting used to the handling of the car however, if you take a search on the forum there's a load of topics up on this already....

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sooooooo where to buy ?? (Balckcircle.com £124.77 for Pir P Zero) and what to fit My fronts need replacing C4S has Pirreli 225/40 R18Z on it at the mo Contemplating the Michelin Pilot Sports, car is everyday driver, what do you guys recommend? Also what is the N3 bit..... Thanks Paul

POST 2Original post

Fairly new owner myself so cannot recommend different tyres as I'm still getting used to the handling of the car however, if you take a search on the forum there's a load of topics up on this already.... e.g. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=35983&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=tyres I used to use blackcircles previously and they were superb value. ALthough there could very well be better suppliers of Porsche boots. WRT "N" rating this refers to the speed rating of the tyre IIRC. SO Don't get anything that's rated worse than this!

POST 3Original post

^^^^ N Rated a must. I have the Pilot Cup Sports and no issues.

POST 4Original post

Hiya, I've always used Event Mobile Tyres - and so have a bunch of people at my office. Very good same or next day service, punctual, tidy and know what they're doing. Also, they do nice discounts for 2 or 4 tyres and if you speak to them about the different sizes for the fronts and rears they've done me some great deals in the past. They even did a next day job on the 27th December for me!! http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/ As for tyres, I've always sworn by Pirelli P-Zero Rosso N4s for the last few years as a decent balance between performance, life and cost. Hope this helps. Cheers, Nik

POST 5Original post

vote for the Michelin Pilot sports from me. Had the p-zero's and felt the car a bit twitchy. Since fitting the pilot sports (~2k ago) the car feels much more planted. And thats essential when you're perming hair on the go.

POST 6Original post

I recently got 4 Michelin pilot sports from event tyres, a good deal. i have used them before a few times and they are good on price and service as Nik says, however i have a balancing issue on this set, so they are coming back to rebalance next weekend. but i think this is a blip, i would use them again, maybe keep a keener eye when they balance!

POST 7Original post

Another vote for Pilot Sports. A new set of 225/40/18 fronts and 285/30/18 rears were £710 inc fitting from Martins tyres near Woking

POST 8Original post

For value for money take a look at Yokohama Advan. Regards Big Bob

POST 9Original post

Are you running Pilot Sport Cups all the time Jamie, or just for the track? Presumably you are running - 235 x 35 x 19 (87Y) - Front 305 x 30 x 19 (102Y) - Rears Cheers, Rich

POST 10Original post

N refers to Porsche approved. The number afterwards refers to the number of iterations since that original approval. The higher the number, the more modern iteration of that tyre model.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks to you all, I am erring towards the Pilot sports, would a Geo check be in order first, the insides of my front tyres are wearing quicker than the outside, howwever the car pulls straight and seems very stable etc ??? your thoughts please Cheers Paul

POST 12Original post

I believe that is the standard geometry set up, where you get wear on the tyres on the inside.

POST 13Original post

How noticeable is the extra wear ? a normal geo shouldnt really cause this on all 4 tyres ?

POST 14Original post

Inside of fronts definitely wear quicker inside, but wear even on the rears. IMO just about legal on inside equates to about 3mm on outside.
