Need new tyres and just wanted to check I have the right size on the car (as I am not sure if previous tyres are correct size - they might be, they might not be).

Its a 2000 996 C2 cab with GT3 style wheels (not sure of their full/correct name, but they are the wheels with lots of spokes that are a right pain in the bum to clean).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Need new tyres and just wanted to check I have the right size on the car (as I am not sure if previous tyres are correct size - they might be, they might not be). Its a 2000 996 C2 cab with GT3 style wheels (not sure of their full/correct name, but they are the wheels with lots of spokes that are a right pain in the bum to clean). At the moment I have: 225 40 ZR18 front, 265 35 ZR18 rear. Anyone know if this is correct? Also - tried to find these tyres at simplytyres, blackcircles and kwikfit - none available. I know tyres are in short supply, but thats taking the mick isnt it? Where on earth am I supposed to get tyres! Really dont want to drive all the way to Micheldever on a weekend. Also - do tyres affect geometry? I am having new shocks fitted and a geo done in 6wks and just wondered? Thanks, Josh Edited to say: I promise I was a good boy and did a search. I found this thread, which helped a bit, but confused more. My wheels look like the ones called Sports Design (BBS): http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=34835&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=tyre+size&start=8

POST 2Original post

Martins tyres West end village [J3 M3] order you some in about two days if he doesn't have what you need in stock, good on price as well. I have 225 40 ZR18 front Michelins 285 30 ZR18 rear [previously 265 30 ZR18} fitted to Classic sport rims TB

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Went to Martin Tyres yesterday. 4 Michelin PilotSports fitted for £638, which is miles cheaper than anywhere else (and most people said they couldnt even source any). Its a no frills place, but they knew what they were doing and took good care of the wheels. I would deffo go back. TB - dont suppose it was you driving past in a blue/black 911 with numberplate ending in TB?

POST 4Original post

POST 5Original post

Yep that would have been me and the dog coming back from a walk :thumb: TB

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
