Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Luckily I inspected bothe carefully before inserting and found a rip between the rubber and filter in one and the other had 2 very small holes that through the filter itself, thereby npt catching any dust or particles.

I use Mahle and Knecht filters which are OE equivalent and Mahle likely make the Porsche branded filters.

Personally for the relatively low cost v high risk I've always used OEM filters from the dealer for all the Porsches I've owned.

Eurocarparts tend to drop the price massively when either one brand drops out the market or they change model number ect.

I do a additional yearly oil & filter change on my car as its not used that much.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Glad to read the above from Marky911 as personally I wouldn't buy these and I only use Mahle as these were identical to what came out of my car after a service at a OPC.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Figured I should post this find, coming up to service time and eurocarparts have Crossland oil filters for our cars for £1.20. just picked up 6 myself to have me set for the next few years.
I wouldn't use those to be honest.
My Indy has seen several aftermarket oil filters that have collapsed in the housing (sucked flat) that have then begun to restrict oil flow quite seriously.
I only use genuine Porsche parts or Mahle who we believe to be the OE supplier, as the text printed on the filter is identical to a Porsche one. (Mahle are based in Stuttgart too, so it would seem a logical pairing.)
Chances are you'll have no issues, but to save a tenner or so once a year I simply wouldn't take the risk.
When I saw the main post I wanted to comment that "You get what you pay for" but thought that I'd be slaughtered for saying that and that these are a good make etc. I decided to follow the post to see what comments were made.

But after reading about filters collapsing then its a Deff No No from me, its not as if you would be saving a mint is it ?, a few pounds a year

I buy the Mobil 1 from Europarts but would never use anything but Porsche OEM filters from the OPC.
I had a M6 V10 and bought 2 KN panel filters. Luckily I inspected bothe carefully before inserting and found a rip between the rubber and filter in one and the other had 2 very small holes that through the filter itself, thereby npt catching any dust or particles.
99.9% of people would not have done a thorough check and these filters were £70 each. I don't expect much difference in a £1.20 filter.
My advice OEM Porsche everytime.
Agree with the above: Oil filters are not the right place to save money!
I use Mahle and Knecht filters which are OE equivalent and Mahle likely make the Porsche branded filters.
I agree with the above, given the cost differential and the critical importance of the oil filter. There may be nothing wrong with the cheap filter, especially as it's cartridge style (no non return valve etc) but I wouldn't take the chance.
It does amuse me that people hunt out the genuine Bosch voltage regulators though. It's the genuine Bosch ones that prematurely fail first time around!
Crossland have made filters for decades and I think are an well established brand, I guess the price tag of £1.20 is the factor putting people off you using them as it makes them sound cheap Chinese knock offs
The reason that there are filters out there that collapse is because there is no inner plastic spine (or not very strong) to hold them upright and they just collapse and block the oil flow in turn starving the engine.
Also heard of issues with non OEM oil filters.

They are usually the same price as the rest. Eurocarparts tend to drop the price massively when either one brand drops out the market or they change model number ect. Once picked up new discs and pads brembo for all 4 corners of my Passat £30 all in from them.
Checked and they have the same centre plastic skeleton as my Mahle one from last year. To each their own, my experience with filters is they are all basically the same unless you buy silly ones like k&n's.
Exactly Esendia,

It was good of you to post and share a bargain. It's equally good to share any info, good or bad, to help us make those choices. As I say you'll probably be fine, they just aren't for everyone. :thumb:
