I actually wasn't fussed about sliding, and had wondered about just using the side mounts to the floor, but been told almost impossible.

Hi guys - looking at swapping out my seats with aftermarket. By the time you have added the subframes and side mounts, you add another 50% cost to the job. Is there an alternative to the Cobra Porsche 996 Direct Fit Subframes? Thanks

Been through this recently and only real option is the Cobra ones if you want sliding. There are alternatives but not any cheaper IIRC.
