Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

My 'science advisor' says that as vaseline is petrol based it will damage the rubber in the longterm - she recommends something which is silicon based like those spray canisters you can buy from Aldi for lubricating bicycles.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The hard top has gone onto my C4S Cab for the winter (don't know why I took it of this year!!!!) but the bug bear of that is the creaking noises heard by my right ear as I drive along is driving me nuts. East Sussex to Bristol the other day and it was evident all the way there and back again. Any fellow cab owners have a fix for this apart from not putting the hard top on in the first place. Thanks RB

POST 2Original post

Know the symptoms well!! Try vaseline on the rods and along the rubber trim where it meets the body of the car. It seems to have helped in my case!

POST 3Original post

There are a bunch of TSBs on this subject. I'll email you the details.

POST 8Original post

I have always used Vaseline - keeps the rubber supple and no creaks either. Cheap as well!
