Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, can anyone chime in and let me know if removing this nut and rail is acceptable to install my new coolant tank? I lowered the engine and it still is giving my issues fitting the tank in. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, MB 2004 911 carrera

With engine lowered as much as possible, try putting a foot on bottom of engine and giving it a strong push. Should give you just enough room to get tank out and in, Take 02 sensor wiring out of the holders and drop the engine all the way down to rest on the cross-member, then take your foot and push the engine over. Can use a ratchet strap if ya want, but really not needed just have to move it about an 1". Above worked for me, gotten from forum member Porschetech3. Don't go wild here and knock car off your lift...lol

POST 3Original post

The nut is just the cover for the fuel pressure shrader. Nothing will come out if u remove it but it wont give u much. Removing the rail is a much bigger job.
