Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I get a clunk every once in a while on braking and clutch application. Is this normal? 2006 C4.

POST 2Original post

Probably not! A clunk can take many different places and causes. My initial check would be to make sure that all fasteners are tight on the brakes, trans mounts, and engine mounts. Also checking the trans and engine mounts for cracks and or leaking fluid will be important. How many miles on your C4?? Any work done prior to you noticing the clunking??

POST 3Original post

You might also want to check the axle shaft bolts where it connects to the transaxle.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just got it at 69,000 and change. Brakes were reported to have been done w/i last two years. I'll check all the mounts, pivot points, and cv joints. Thank you.
