https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...xpQxv-pUXbK2lz I recently had to replace mine because the detents in the switch wore out so I couldn't find a spot to get the headlights AND taillights on at the same time. Replacing the switch fixed the issue. Cheap and easy.

I use Pelican parts all the time. But in this instance I used Amazon for both my 996.1 & my 996.2 Bought both of the below switches to compare/use them. My 996.2 needed a switch as the oem 24 yo one was fugging up bad. Couldn't shut off the lights intermittently. Also intermittently weird un-switched power to different systems when none should be on... A bad headlight switch can back feed many systems in our 996 causing strange things to happen.... Compared carefully both the URO($60 at the time 4 years ago) & the generic ($30) Amazon? switch. Received both the next day from Prime. Seriously couldn't tell them apart. Both were made in China just like the OEM Porsche one is now. Put in the $30 switch about 4 years ago on my 996.2, it has worked flawlessly ever since. Don't forget to remove the very small screw set in the inside side of the switch housing. The URO is on the shelf waiting to go in the 996.1 when needed.... Amazon Amazon Amazon Amazon
