Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Left rear repaired locally (St Albans) with fibreglass about 5 years ago - lasted roughly 4 years. More fibreglass at same small body shop - lasted 6 months. Any recommendations for someone who can do a metal out / in repair that'll last? Thanks Kieron

POST 2Original post

I would ring Angus at AMS Porsche, who are Kimpton, and ask if he could recommend a decent place to carry out the work. AMS are an excellent independent, reasonably priced and very straight forward to deal with. Good luck.

POST 4Original post

Anyone know a suitable equivalent in South London (or thereabouts). I've been quoted £1800 because the whole rear quarter needs respraying and I really can't justify that. It's getting too close to a full respray cost!

POST 5Original post

Hi Mike I've seen Tom from TGE TV on youtube has used H&L motors numerous times for paintwork & other maintenance on some of his Porsches & other cars. I've not used them for any paint or bodywork myself, but I have used them for some other work on (non Porsche) cars. They usually seem to have a nice selection of high end cars in for work, & are a VW group approved bodyshop. https://hlmotors.co.uk/services/paint-body-centre/ https://www.instagram.com/handlmotors/ others to consider: https://www.rindtvehicledesign.com/paintwork I think Precision Porsche use Impact Bodyworks in the neighbouring unit: https://www.precisionporsche.co.uk/precision-prestige-bodywork https://impactbodywork.co.uk/restorations/

POST 6Original post

Thanks that's a great help, I'll try some of them. By the way, I've fitted 997 seats now, my wife thinks they are a big improvement!

POST 7Original post

I used Scope Bodyshop on the south coat. Rear arch, front bumper & sill (from sleeping policeman) was £1000, I kept my seats & changed the Wife Huge improvement
