I guess it will be best to have it all done at once rather than have new pads soon and replace discs in a year or so.

I have been told that my car's discs are going to need replacing in another 10,000 miles or so while pads are down to 1/3rd of available thickness so prob need replacing sooner

OMG!! I agree with Adrian, only an OPC could have the audacity to tell you something like that! Did they also mention your car will be banned for using petrol in 50 years time so you should put down a deposit now for one of their plutonium cars?
