Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Just repair with butt connectors or solder and heat shrink.
Leading evidence: 'Repair with butt connectors or solder and heat shrink' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Repair with butt connectors or solder and heat shrink' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. If it does, just replace the O2 sensor, they are about $75 each on rockauto for a Bosch unit.

I'd also suggest using a synthetic wire loom for some added protection.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello guys,
dont know where to turn. Does anyone know what this connected is for?
can I start the car or am I going to throw codes?
it looks like I need to try and re pin this connector or find a new one and splice it on. Does anyone know where to find one?
thanks for the help!
I got hit by a rat and hope this is all I find!

Looks like 02 sensor. Yes, will throw a code. Just repair it with a good appropriate connector. I used very small heat shrink water resistant butt connectors & some small wire ties for mine after the same rodent damage. Been working like that for years now.
Rodents seem to luv that area and those 02 wires must be tasty, go figure... On my car when it was being stored by previous owner, seems like they started to try and make a nest there, brought in some wood chips acorns etc
Look familar
Some of that rubber insulation has some corn starch in it.....Rats love corn starch....They get to eating the rubber and can't stop and eat right through the Copper....
Thanks guys. Yeah it does look like an O2 sensor. I will try to find an old one somewhere and splice the wires. I have some good marine crimps and heat shrink.
Hopefully this is all it is. I forgot to pack the bounce sheets in this area last winter when I out it away. Last time I forget/ am too lazy to get it stored right.
cheers
It appears it's on the O2 sensor side of the connector vs. the vehicle side. If that's the case, just start the car and see if it throws codes. If it does, just replace the O2 sensor, they are about $75 each on rockauto for a Bosch unit.
Keep in mind that if it happened once, it can happen again, I'd pull the airbox and clean that whole area really well with a fairly strong mix of something like pine sol. I'd also suggest using a synthetic wire loom for some added protection. Spraying a mix of peppermint oil and water with a stronger dilution might help keeping the rodents out.
It's good luck if the rat damage is on the sensor side of the connection. I agree, slap a new O2 sensor on and call it a day.
You will need to do something about the rat issue...
