Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Check your lower fork that bolts on to the coffin arm if there's play in the socket where it bolts on to the subframe at the front.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've had a low speed knocking from the OSR for a while - looking at these images, am I right in thinking the rear lower suspension arm mount has "ovalled"....? I doesn't feel like I should be seeing so much exposed shiny metal beneath the head of the eccentric bolt... but I don't look at it everyday(!)

POST 2Original post

From a quick glance under mine there shouldn't be another washer under that bolt head, looks like it's stopping the eccentric bolt from being held in the correct place in the subframe and may contribute to the bolt moving around. The slot in the subframe is oval to allow adjustment of the geometry.

POST 3Original post

As Marmoset says it looks like there is an extra washer under the head which shouldn't be there! Be worth checking all the other eccentric adjustment bolts in case the same has been done elsewhere! Mac

POST 4Original post

That's a coffin arm bolt in the toe arm. It's longer so they've put a washer on to make it fit by the looks of things. Probably ran out of thread when tightening the nut up. Shoddy! That may not be your knock though. Check your lower fork that bolts on to the coffin arm if there's play in the socket where it bolts on to the subframe at the front.
