This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Porsche Club GB: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, this is my first post so please forgive me if its in the wrong place. I'm not sure where to put it, or how for that matter! I'm an associate member currently. Anyway, to my question: I'm hoping that I have now saved enough for a 2nd hand 996 but as I live on the Isle of Man there aren't any for sale. If there are any for sale they are usually overpriced. I'm sure I read somewhere that there are members who can source cars who have expertise and experience far beyond anything I would have, and wondered if this may be the best way for me to end up owning my dream car. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

have a look on a site called pistonheads, for a rough price guide also the porsche forum on there will answer any queries.

POST 3Original post

One way of doing it is to find a car you like online (PH is a good example as Stuart mentions) and getting someone like Peter Morgan ( http://www.petermorgan.org.uk/inspection.htm ) to look it over and let you know if it's a good buy or not. He will send you a big report with pictures and a valuation. He is very good at what he does. Otherwise I know a member who does this kind of service, his name is Adrien Ong and this is his website http://www.higheroctane.com/porscheppis.html Tell him I mentioned him to you and I'm sure he will do a fantastic job, he is very knowledgeable. Good luck!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok Gents, thanks for your replies. I'll contact them in the new year and see what they say. I found another called Adrian Crawford too. I would prefer to use someone who has been recommended on this forum though. Hope I'm not breaking any rules here asking for this sort of advice.
