Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm Porsh too. However I'm not that posh to be fair though!
If you're posh then you tend to say Porsha from what I've observed.

Definitely Porsh. I feel a tit saying Porsha.
Yes, because it isch Porsche
Being german speaking and in Switzerland, I pronounce it correctly.
When speaking english, I either say "Porsh" or deliberately say it in german "Porsche".
I find it odd too if an english speaker affected pronounce it "Porsheahhhhhh" like Joey in Friends

No idea about the Friends reference, but I do the same living in Switzerland too.

One more in Switzerland, though in fFrench for me, so ‘porsh’ …

Same, when I had my 981 I tried to start saying Porsha but sounded like a prat.
I think Brits are conditioned to feel uncomfortable when trying to use foreign languages. Personally I don’t think there’s any shame in saying it the German way, but equally I’m not against hearing it said in the international way.

I'm working class british, didn't do well in English at school, well I passed with a C. I speak broken Italian.
But I felt/sounded a right wally saying Porsha instead of Porsh.

And for more context:
He found the keys to a Porsche parked under their appartement
Hilarious episode, I remember watching it as a youth in the very early 00's
As most of you will know, Matt LeBlanc, who plays Joey in the series, is a real life petrolhead
I understand why some people pronounce it as Porsh in casual conversation, what I don't understand is the negative association with the German pronunciation as shown by various other posts in this thread. Is it just social conformity? Why would it be "snooty" or make someone sound like a "prat" to use the official pronunciation of a foreign name?
Both.
So I've gone with 'other'.
For instance, I quite often sing Nelly's line 'hey little Porsha' when I see another one or arrive back to mine whilst driving the daily. Cringe!
Definitely Porsh to non-car people.
Last night I was stood at a classic car meet with another Porsche driver and he pronounced it correctly when we spotted a Cayman driving in. So I was happy to say it correctly as I was clearly with my people.
I only got a D at A-Level German, but it does feel a bit wrong to mispronounce it so willingly!
Somewhere in between but closer to Porsh. Definitely not Porsha. I once met one of the family and that's how they pronounced it so i think i'm good, whatever language aficionados might say

The "E" is pronounced but the emphasis is strongly the first syllable, so maybe what you are referring to is actually just the German pronunciation.

very funny. Thanks for that.

With all the votes for a Brit-centric pronunciation, how come we don't call an Audi an Ordi?
Because they successfully managed to get people to pronounce it correctly through marketing, but the Porsh crowd are incredibly stubborn, despite the company/family making it very clear how they prefer to be referred to.
Hyundai accepted a terrible butchering of their name in the UK market for many years, but now seem to be trying get people to pronounce it correctly.
Porsh doesn't even make sense as an Angicised pronunciation, words in English don't just have an E on the without a purpose, so logically it should be pronounced phonetically.
It's an odd one for me.
I was always "Porsh". I then moved to Germany and lived there for a few years it become "Porsha". I owned one there, so I had to use the word a fair bit - a "Neun Elf".
I now vary, depending on to whom I'm talking. Brits get the Anglicised version, Europeans get the German pronunciation.
I pronounce it the British way despite that not being the correct pronunciation. I'll never call Nike "Nikee" or Nissan "Neesan" either.
On the topic, apparently, I've been saying Hyundai wrong all my life. It's now Hyeeunday. Same with Ikea. That's now "Ick eyya"

If you agree that the German pronunciation is correct then porsh can't be called the British way when many Brits also pronounce it correctly.
Hyeeunday has always been the pronunciation in Korean, I don't know why the UK division went along with such a ridiculous mispronunciation for so long, maybe a Korean higher-up recently caught wind of it and gave them a b
ing over it.

Similarly, I work for the EMEA region and one of my closest colleagues is Spanish and called Rocio. I know her native Spanish speakers call her "Rotheo" but everyone else including me, pronounces it "Roseeo". I asked her about it, and she said it would sound odd to her if I tried to use the proper Spanish pronunciation.

Ralph Lauren or Ralph Lo-ren?
This one makes less sense as its just an American guy and its 'Lauren' but for some reason a lot of brits including me say Lo-ren

Because it can sound pretentious. Like saying Athina for Athens or 'Pareeee' for Paris.

But those place names have English translations - Porsche does not. Do you use an English pronunciation for place names that don’t have English translations, such as, for example, Saint Tropez?

Peeps say Majorca instead of 'My-Orca' (Mallorca) or Budapest instead of Buda-Pesht.
I think it always sounds a bit pretentious to suddenly switch into a local accent for one word.

But you can say Mallorca without affecting a Spanish accent - just as a Spanish person can say Leicester or Worcester without sounding like they’ve teleported to Walford.
Any road up - Janis Joplin had it right.

Yeah, but only if the engine’s in the wrong place.
As close to the correct way that my B in GCSE and my posh accent allows, old boy. It’s a fellow’s surname after all, so there aren’t different ways to pronounce it based on adjacent language.
