Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I would start by calibrating the steering angle sensor again and checking the values on a tester as you move it slowly lock to lock ..

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I'm having a bit of a weird issue with my PSM cutting in at fairly low speeds in a right hand corner. It seems to occur most commonly if I'm going through the corner at a constant speed rather than slowing down for the corner and then accelerating through. I cleaned off the ABS rings last year and calibrated the steering angle sensor then too, I'm running coilovers (but not particularly low ride height), the front tyre pressures are even and the tyres are evenly worn. I'm wondering if there's an inertia sensor somewhere that's getting overexcited. Anywhere you'd suggest I start looking? Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

I would start by calibrating the steering angle sensor again and checking the values on a tester as you move it slowly lock to lock .. compair steering wheel positions against the plus / minus readings . Your description of right hand cornering would lead to this possibly not being correct ... simple to do but you will need a suitable tester . After that a fault code read out .. for me i would be in the passenger seat with a teaster looking at live values and checking the wheel speed sensors . Inertia sensor .. new one on me if it is that but never rule anything out .. there should certainly be a fault code for it though . Edit .. Workshop manuals are here .. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=83491 you want running gear . Image below of the sensor depending on if you have PSM or TC .

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks DeMort, That's handy, I've got Durametric so I'll recalibrate the steering angle sensor again and check that those sensors are not loose. I checked for fault codes but there weren't any. Appreciate your help
