Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Don't have them at the moment but Darren said it was the left front wheel.
Leading evidence: 'left front wheel' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'left front wheel' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fault codes if' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Many parts changed...many emails exchanged with DeMort on the subject as well.

Over Christmas I hadn't used the car for awhile and the battery was very lethargic on start, so when I got back I put the car on a smart charger and since doing that every time since, no warning light problems - exactly like when I used the car every week!

Suggestion
Exactly this - my 2002 turbo has exactly the same front left fault, where occasionally it warns on ignition on - my mechanic has already used the repair kit on his own 996C4 so is going to do the same to mine!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have tried everything from brake switch, new brakes new sensors and wires but I cannot stop getting these warning lights on every time I turn the key on. I have to push the computer stalk several times to clear the central readout every time I get in the car. Even Darren at Unique Porsche after using the codes investigating them then clearing them couldn't find any fault so they couldn't sort it. Can the ECU be adapted to stop these lights coming on at all?
Your question ..
No you can't ..
There is a fault with the Psm and you can't code this off of a car .. its a safety feature which will also when it has a fault stop the Abs from working .
Fault needs fixing ..
Ok so the code is Only front left ??
If so the possible options are ......
wheel speed sensor ..
Wiring from sensor to Psm control unit .. this is suspect as its not that uncommon for the loom in the arch liner to have broken or shorted out wires .. especially if a shock has been replaced that side ... continuity check and check for short to B+ / neg .
After this there is a fault with the Psm control unit itself .
It won't be the reluctor ring if it happens with ignition on .. this is a permanent fault .
My guess .. a new loom is required n/s/f ... its a cut and join as its a repair kit sold by porsche .
Anyways .. that's the list of items i feel it could be ... if there are other codes then it might alter the diagnosis from the above .. ie maf sensor issue can bring on a psm light but not from this code .
Btw .. its a big help if you put what model and year car you have in a sig
Apologies for the slight thread crash.
Just to clarify then, in the context of the warning lights not coming on during start up, but more randomly during normal driving after maybe 5 minutes or longer, would that point to the most likely cause being the reluctor ring as opposed to an electrical issue?
Unless the car is moving above 6 mph then its cant test the wheel sensor / reluctor ring .. it looks for a sine wave or an alternating voltage if you prefer hence the car has to be moving ... a fault with ignition on is a short or an open circuit hence it sees that straight away ..... im happy to explain this in detail but i feel you will get bored lol .
A reluctor ring issue .. its normally corrosion and it can be to the point of being snapped so a visual check is needed of each wheel .. no tester needed for this .
You basically need a gap then metal then a gap and so on .. if corrosion has kinda filled in a gap then the car starts to see this as an issue as the signal will drop when it shouldn't .
A snapped ring is pretty obvious ... so basically start by looking at the ring .. C2 and you have a fixed wheel in the hub on the front which to be honest doesn't really cause issues and rings on the driveshafts ..
C4 and its rings all round .
If nothing obvious with the rings then it's going to be a wheel speed sensor , the wiring to the control unit or the control unit itself .
Speed sensor is the most obvious followed by a break in the wiring .. this will cause an intermittent fault .. possibly on a certain corner , roundabout etc .
fault code readout will .. or at least should say which wheel the issue is on .

I had this and it was proper annoying. Many parts changed...many emails exchanged with DeMort on the subject as well. Tempting fate here but I appear to have finally gotten to the bottom of it. When I use the car regularly, I don't get the problem and if it sits in the garage for weeks at a time, it becomes a problem. Over Christmas I hadn't used the car for awhile and the battery was very lethargic on start, so when I got back I put the car on a smart charger and since doing that every time since, no warning light problems - exactly like when I used the car every week!
Try checking your volts and if you are endear Bromley I have a diagnostic tester to check your fault codes if that would help?
