Certainly worth upgrading as OEM gear is weak, have a look in the 996 FAQ section as that is what I did and used some info to do my own DIY upgrade :mrgreen:

Ive got a Y2000 model 996 and love everything but the sound, the sterio not the PES :thumbs: it's got the sound upgrade (what a joke) It's got the additional speakers in the doors cd multichanger and the factory amp. My question is, is it worth changing the front dash speakers 10cm and 1" tweeter to say Rainbow SL100? I've been told not to bother changing the door speakers, is this right? Should i change the rears if so do i go for the same as the fronts. Can i use the original cabling and just plug a new amp in? if so what as anyone used? I like the head unit it's a cdr22 becker, i've changed the multi changer to an ipod link. I'm only wanting to get a clear sound at higher levels, to be honest just a clear sound at any level!! All advice appreciated. Cheers
