Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have to say it does feel good knowing you're replacing all the old brake parts.

Hi guys, can anybody tell which are the bolts(in attached diag) that need to be replaced when changing dics?

This is recommended to be done when changing pads....
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

They also talk about replacing part 15, the spring plate, bolt and clip however I think this is a pointless exercise and have never done such a thing. This is recommended to be done when changing pads.... pah, I wouldn't bother but it's up to you.
Is worth giving the pins a good clean with a wire brush if you re-use them. Had to use considerable force to remove my front ones, rears popped out just like they should!
I have to say it does feel good knowing you're replacing all the old brake parts. I've only done it once when the spiders were shagged, the spring plate too rusty, the discs all cracked and the pads worn through.
You can get them from your OPC, they are a special coated bolt that also is engineered to stretch when screwed in to prevent it coming loose.
IIRC they are around £7 for a set of four.
Theoretically you can purchase the bolts from a specialist supplier - but it would probably be more money due to postage. The bolts you get from Porsche are stamped with all the information you require. These bolts are specially heat treated and won't go too elastic under heat. Never never use normal bolts as they could fail due to metal fatigue.

At whay point should I be changing my discs. Had an advisorary from the OPC last service that I should but bulked at the £800 they quoted to do the fronts pad/discs and labour :floor: .
But would like to check myself - they do have a small lip .3mm at the front haven't measured the back of the disc - pads have 5mm of material remaining.
If they do indeed need changing I imagine its a fairly simple job - I have always done this sort of thing myself.
From this thread it seems the only extra I'd need on top of the design911 front discs and pad package are the bolts? (How many?)
Anyone bought from them? When they say OEM do they mean Porsche or I have heard Sebro - and the pads are textar is that right?
