Suggestion

That's really good news for a a change, however I think the chancellor is taking the opportunity to get rid of a very unpopular tax increase (and a very unfair one that lacks evidenced justification) in a hope of looking the good guy.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

So .. they backtacked (hooray!). Quote ... " cars that emit over 225 g/km, but were registered between 1 March 2001 and 23 March 2006, will be moved into the new band K in 2009 and stay there in 2010 . This will mean that they maintain their exemption from the top rate of VED." i.e. post 2001 996's will be just £215 in 2009-10 and £245 in 2010-11

POST 2Original post

I thought that's what I caught on the news, I acme straight onto the site as I was sure someone would have picked up on it! That's really good news for a a change, however I think the chancellor is taking the opportunity to get rid of a very unpopular tax increase (and a very unfair one that lacks evidenced justification) in a hope of looking the good guy. Not so good news for those who have been shopping for a pre '01 911 though!

POST 3Original post

Also shows how their justification for increases using environmentally based excuses can be forgotten when it suits!!!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yes .. now I can find a nice MK2 GT3 .... oh wait, I can only afford the tax, not the car thanks to the value of my ISAs....

POST 5Original post

Well that is good news. Out of curiosity I've just looked at the DVLA website and after doing a quick calculation in 2010 there will be something like 41 potential tax brackets, just for cars. Mmm, streamlined!

POST 6Original post

so right...on the plus side can look for an older 996TT now..[ ]

POST 7Original post

this is true older 996's I will expect will rise in value a slight amount.. like back in 1992 when cat's where fitted if you had a K reg no one wanted it... J and your ok.

POST 8Original post

Any idea where I can get one of these tax disc holders?

POST 9Original post
