Checked the oil when I got home and is in between the min max (closer to min) so topped up about 500ml of oil.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Luckily the car is going in tomorrow to have some things fixed (electrical), but today on a long drive and at times spirited two beeps were sounded with the dash digital dispaly indicating "fault indicator" and the the image of the oil can. However it quickly reverted back to normal and carried on driving home for the next 50 miles at slower speed without anymore warnings. Checked the oil when I got home and is in between the min max (closer to min) so topped up about 500ml of oil. What I did notice that cruising at 70mph in 5th the oil pressure seemed quite high close to the 5 mark, would only drop to 2 when stationary. Also noticed the oil filler tube has white residue going down. The oil looks golden clean on the dip stick though as it was serviced only a couple of months ago about 1000 miles done since. Any thoughts of what may be going on? Will ask the OPC to check it on Monday but a heads up in advance would be much appreciated. cheers Dejan

POST 2Original post

Did you notice if the oil pressure indictaor dropped to 0 when you got the warning? i had similar symptoms before, oil pressure dropped to 0 briefly, i got the same warning and then after a couple of seconds it was all back to fine. turned out to be a faulty oil pressure switch/sensor which was replaced under warranty.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the reply. No I didnt notice it drop but to be honest I didn't look so it may have done. What I did notice is that the pressure needle did jump around a bit at low speeds. Just had a look at rennlist and all seem to be the same reasons as yours.
