Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

knocking under front of 996... got a knocking sound under front of my 996 carrera 2 (2002)... more noticeable over uneven road ... just had both anti roll links changed but problem still there... anyone any ideas ? cheers

POST 2Original post

This may sound stupid but have you checked nothing is loose in the boot, tool kit Spare wheel etc. Failing that I will leave it to the experts

POST 3Original post

Track rod ends? Do you get a steering vibration as well? Did you have the anti-roll bar bushes changed at the same time?

POST 4Original post

Is the knocking under acceleration only or going over bumps/speedbumps? Or is it prevalent at other times?

POST 5Original post

could be a few things ideally you need it on a ramp but have had them where the forward facing arm knocks over bumps

POST 6Original post

Hi, Lower control arms - its a common problem hartech in bolton do recon units if this transpires to be the problem. _ Simon

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks everyone for the feed back... thanks everyone for the feed back...

POST 8Original post

I'd agree with Simon. I had both of mine replaced for about 500 quid all in. Kick the wheels to see if the make the same noise. Bounce the car up and down to see if it's something else.
