For no apparent reason , the PSM and ABS turn OFF and say "GO TO WORKSHOP" - sometimes when I take the car out of the park, sometimes during a long drive ( running ) or as now, in a moderate long braking.

Unsuccessful attempt

The reason I'm not sure which is that I had another fault which definitely was the MAF, but it didn't cure the PSM/ABS problem, so they changed the brake pedal switch at the same time.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there, For no apparent reason , the PSM and ABS turn OFF and say "GO TO WORKSHOP" - sometimes when I take the car out of the park, sometimes during a long drive ( running ) or as now, in a moderate long braking. Can it be a faulty MAF sensor or serious ABS failure ? Ideas ? PS : does Porsche Warranty covers any of these ?

POST 2Original post

check brake lights work , if no then switch on pedal faulty , other than that may be a faulty sensor , get an indy to read fault codes

POST 3Original post

If the PSM thinks the problem has gone away during self-check, the error codes are cleared and don't stay in the computer, so you need to take it to the OPC/Indy with the engine still running and the fault still showing!!!! MAF and PSM faults are generally covered under warranty, so I'd take to an OPC personally.

POST 4Original post

I had this and it turned out to be a faulty brake pedal switch and/or MAF. The reason I'm not sure which is that I had another fault which definitely was the MAF, but it didn't cure the PSM/ABS problem, so they changed the brake pedal switch at the same time.
