Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I would imagine most parts are classified as "wear and tear", but wanted to check before taking it somewhere.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My suspension creaks and generally isnt as planted as when I bought the car. Its 54k miles and 7yrs old and I cant find any receipts covering suspension work, so am figuring its needs some TLC. I dont get any non-warranty work done by OPC, so before I check it into an indy: are any suspension parts covered by the warranty? I would imagine most parts are classified as "wear and tear", but wanted to check before taking it somewhere. Thanks for any help, Josh

POST 2Original post

Unless there has been a failure of a component due to an error in manufacturing process eg snapped suspension arm/Springs etc the dampers will be wear and tear after 54k miles - if they were leaking after 5.4mile you might have a case

POST 4Original post

Is "excessive play" in suspension arms/track rods normal "wear & tear" after just 40K miles (on a 996 C4S) too?

POST 5Original post

Yes, unfortunately it is. Not helped by the state of our roads.

POST 6Original post

Good point! ...not to mention all those speed bumps
