FYI, had IMS (ceramic not Solutions), RMS, Clutch and Flyweel replaced 6K miles ago.

It is an INDY shop that will only use Porsche parts (the owner is a Porsche and ASE Certified Master Technician who worked for Scottsdale Porsche, Carlsen Porsche and Niello Porsche for a total of 12 years and did a great job on my IMS,RMS Clutch job) Hes gained my trust but if I'm getting hit to hard on pricing could always check around.

Forgot to mention, I replaced the motor mounts last month.

All suspension parts, all rubber stuff, give everything a good look, feel it and see if there is any play anywhere, check the exhaust system, when was your serpentine belt last changed, etc.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Funny, when I bought the car at this Porsche dealer they gave me only the invoice for the big service they did before the sale (clutch, rms and Ims along with oil change).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Going to be bringing in my car for its 60K service next week. Having the service done (plugs, oil, filters, belt and other required lube stuff) $1,000.00, also adding other preventative things, water pump $850, brake flush $250 and belt tentioners (if required). Looks like I will be into it for around $2,100.00. My question is has anyone performed their 60K service only to find that they should of had some additional preventative work done at same time? if so what? Really don't want to spend spend spend if not necessary but at same time if there is something else that would be cost effective since their into it,, would consider it.
FYI, had IMS (ceramic not Solutions), RMS, Clutch and Flyweel replaced 6K miles ago. Also checked AOS, Crankcase pulled 4,81 in WC (from what I have read here that seems good and indicates no problem with AOS).
Thanks
What is going rate for a brake fluid flush? I can always negotiate? Do the other quoted rates seem reasonable? That sounds about right for the brake flush...just guesstimating but figure $175. for labor and the other $75 for fluids and other shop items. A dealer would be more like $400. These are California prices remember. Whenever the car is up on a rack it pays to pay the labor for a full tour of the bottom of the car. All suspension parts, all rubber stuff, give everything a good look, feel it and see if there is any play anywhere, check the exhaust system, when was your serpentine belt last changed, etc.

The belt is included in the $1.000.00 60K quote (he mentioned that it was yellowing a bit as well as some slight sqeeking of one of the tensioners when he was doing the IMS) . The exhaust was just updated by Darin Fister at his shop a couple of months ago. Thanks for the heads up on checking all suspension items, I will make sure to bring that up with the shop when I drop it off. Forgot to mention, I replaced the motor mounts last month.
Yes, it is absurd - not unusual, but absurd nonetheless. The bottom line in most cases is this: For most "service type items" on our cars (i.e. oil/fluid changes, wiper blades, cleaning, etc...) DIY'ing will save/pay you nice sums of $$. What's more, you actually know that the job was done and done properly (obviously if you don't think you can do it properly, pay the man!). Buyer beware! The Porsche "TAX" is real. Many shops are vultures, they hear the cash register ringing as soon as you pull into the lot...
Yikes. My Audi dealer only charged me half an hour's labor ($55) to do a brake bleed on my S4 while it was in for a state inspection and I didn't feel like doing it myself one time. $200+ seems like pretty significant Porsche tax! Maybe take it to a VW or Audi dealer or something instead; it's not rocket science and any competent tech should be able to do it. Or DIY as others have said.
I used have a Lexus and service cost at the Toyota dealer was a lot less. If you don't trust ammco to do a brake flush - then sure - see what vw dealer would charge - it is very simple on these cars - just insist they use a good fluid like ate or pentosin dot 4.
Better yet - get a mity vac - watch the YouTube video - and it will pay for itself after your first use ! It is one of the simplest DIY on these cars - along with oil change , air and cabin filter and even the drive belt ....
Plugs are maybe not such an easy DIY - but my indie only charged around $300 for that at 60k ..... and did a quick inspection on the lift - I did the rest myself ....
Reviewing my vehicle history, this what a porsche dealer does at 60k, prices are from 2014. PO ended up spending 2300$ with new tires. Looks like you can add the coils.
You could easily save $1900 by doing those things yourself. If they determine that you also need pads and rotors, add another $2000. (Also something you could do yourself).
Interesting invoice. Recept of Order - RO date 6/21/14 - mileage in 59917 - Invoice date 6/26/14 - Delivery date 8/8/15 - mileage 63262. Long test ride??
It is because it is not the original invoice, it is a copy that I asked the dealer to print for me. I bought the car in August 2015 with 63262 miles and those are the date and mileage that appear on all old invoices. Funny, when I bought the car at this Porsche dealer they gave me only the invoice for the big service they did before the sale (clutch, rms and Ims along with oil change). Then I found the golden book in the car: the service manual with all stamps from the dealer since 2007 and 12k miles as a CPO. I asked them to print the latest big works and was happy to avoid the traditional items: the PO did coils, belts, water pump and even front disc brakes and all at the dealer. I have about 15k$ worth of history including the service before the sale.
