Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there, I`d like to get my 996 c4 1998 model chipped/remapped soon, know anyone good ? I searched on GOOGLE and had a pretty rubbish response from the tuning firms that popped up, ideally id like to get the mapped in the midlands on a saturday and im willing to pay the going rate for this but when i mention the idea it seems to go down like a ***** sandwich with the various tuners. Any ideas ? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Not sure about Midlands way but you could try www.Porscheshop.co.uk as they use REVO GIAC http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_revo_technik.html . I'm looking at Parr for their performance map or Regal for their REVO GIAC, all circa £700-900. It should only take an hour at most to flash the ECU from what I've gathered so a Saturday afternoon should be no problem for a professional tuner. Custom maps are going to head into the £2k region as they can take 1-3 days!

Hi - If you don't mind a short hoon up the M6 give Mike a call at www.sportsandclassic.com just off the M6 J19, you might also want to consider what other mods (air/exhaust) you are thinking of doing down stream so that you don't have to Map/flash twice. btw mines '98 996 - and a map plus induction kit makes a real difference in the mid range and responsiveness - Simon

You're after a re-map? I take it you've got your gearbox sorted. What was the problem?
