Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Also would have to be significantly better than the PX values to warrant the hassle of attempting a private sale/viewings/test drives etc.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Still not convinced that it's worth dropping another £60k for similar performance (or less for the R8 - but it does look great from behind :thumb: )
Following on from the previous thread about the 996 TT market and pricing......
Well I have been looking at a new 997 TT and even an R8
.
Both Porsche and Audi have offered my a PX value on the car but both want a large slice themselves. Still undecided whether either are worth the extra wedge over the current TT.
So want to gauge feedback for a private sale - here are the details:
2003 996 TT in Basalt Black - Facelift
P999 TUR (formerly FN52 ZGB)
Standard turbo specification (electric memory seats, PSM etc but no SatNav)
Black leather with aluminium
40k miles
6 speed manual gearbox
Bose sound upgrade with Dension iPod link
Electric sunroof
Tracker
Revo remap with Select switch (a modest power improvement and switchable but map can be removed if not interested)
Porsche mats :worship:
Was professionally detailed last year and garaged. I am the 3rd owner since new and have most of the history/invoices. HPI and finance clear.
Porsche warranty through to 2009 and full service history - just had annual service by OPC. Had the major 4 year or 48k mile service last year. Recent new tyres, brakes (discs and pads), control arms, clutch etc.
Radiators replaced under warranty (and the horn!).
Replaced all the usual 996 service items/issues last year so should be hassle free for a couple of years now. Also just had the coolant bungs replaced.
Interior is in excellent condition. Exterior is very good - wheels were refurbished last year. Usual stone chips on the front and some on the rear quarter below the air intake.
Does not have Porsche battery :floor:
Was thinking around mid £40k's? I am in no rush as the replacement was for my 40th which is not until later this year and they will depreciate faster. Also would have to be significantly better than the PX values to warrant the hassle of attempting a private sale/viewings/test drives etc.
What discount do people think is acceptable for avoiding the hassle of a private sale and what would be a fair private sale?
By way of comparison, my best friend recently bought a 01 51 with 52k miles with full spec, manual, Full history for £35.5k. It needs the rads doing but he has got an extended warranty. Yours sounds about right at £43k-£44k as its 2 years younger and with lower mileage.
The only issue is that 997s are now falling to mid 40s and people will need to decide between outright performance of the tt and the fashion of having the latest shape and other improvements brought in by the 997.
What did Audi and Porsche offer btw
Porsche managed to get it beginning with a 4 but only just. Audi were behind them as they have to "sell" it to another outlet.
Still not convinced that it's worth dropping another £60k for similar performance (or less for the R8 - but it does look great from behind :thumb: )
I am still trying to sell my 01 51 with 48K miles, full spec, manual, FSH etc. etc. plus the X50 and Aerokit options as well as a DMS exhaust, no work needed and has the warranty.
Just lowered the price to £38,500, which sounds more inline with what your friend paid, allowing a 10% premium for the x50 pack etc. (cost 15% more than a standard turbo when new at c. £12k for these opitions on an £80k car) as the age and mileage are near enough the same.
I will be honest with you (and I dont mean this to come across as negative but to let you into the mind of a recent 996 turbo buyer)-my friend avoided anything that had an aerokit or upgrades to the engine (inc non standard exhausts). I know the Xpack is factory fitted so his argument was a bit weak- he just felt it was more likley the car would have been driven harder and seen more track days if someone went to the trouble of spending so much on these sort of extras. If I were you I would peg it to a standard car - maybe add £1000.
Have you adverised it on pistonheads btw. The other thing to do would be to speak to somone like Joel at RSJ for advice- it may be the sort of thing that he would do a sale or return on ..
