Hi Ben, yes they are pretty much a straight swap - if your car has the soundpack (Nokia 6 speakers and amp in boot), then there is 1 wire to swap round on the loom, you'll also need to remove a bit of trim to get your phone mic in the right place - if you're going to be using the bluetooth option.

Hello all, I have read previous threads regarding stereo replacement but it all sounds somewhat confusing and I am probably not after anything quite as high end as others on these forums. However I would like to replace the standard Becker CDR22 in my car - it's a 2001 model 996 (Y Reg) - without the CD multi-changer. Can anyone confirm if the following can be self installed as a straight swap: Becker Grand Prix 7995 http://www.beckerstore.com/product.php/18 Also does anyone have any experience of beckerstore, or recommend any other retailers. Hi Ben, yes they are pretty much a straight swap - if your car has the soundpack (Nokia 6 speakers and amp in boot), then there is 1 wire to swap round on the loom, you'll also need to remove a bit of trim to get your phone mic in the right place - if you're going to be using the bluetooth option. It's about an hours labour for a professional outfit to fit so no great outlay.. If you are near Manchester I can recommend http://www.auto-audio.co.uk/ who can supply and install becker stuff - Simon

I used to have one of these (in my previous car - Audi TT). You won't be disappointed, they are very good head units indeed and look "standard" if that is important to you, as it was to me. Bluetooth works well, at least as good as kits like the Parrot
