Yes i junked the old fashioned cd holder and replaced with another storage tray ordered from an OPC.

So can I easily remove the 4 disc cd holder and will I be left with a simple storage bin that I can use for my mobile phone, ipod etc.....

The CD holder that sits under the sat nav screen is, for me pretty useless as at present I have a cd changer so no real need for storing another 4 cd's inside the car, the sat nav disc will permanantlt reside inside the single unit inside the car. It will become even less useful after I fit the Mobridge ipod interface kit that I have just ordered. So can I easily remove the 4 disc cd holder and will I be left with a simple storage bin that I can use for my mobile phone, ipod etc..... Thanks Steve

Did the same - replaced mine with a storage tray. One word of wisedom though, don't bin your CD holder. There is a market for them and I got £65 for mine on Ebay!!

Hi there, I have a tray for storing 8 tracks in my 996, you`re right it dates the car terribly, I have googles OPC porsche but I cant find teh place that sells these additioanl storage trays, please help I really want one ! thanks

Its a standard fitment ICE item i believe, got mine for around £15 when i had the stereo, amp and speakers upgraded (and yes, got rid of that crappy tape holder )

Hi there, OPC means Official Porsche Centre, so just find one of those near you and they can get you one of these tray thingys. I didnt know what it meant for 3mths after I joined the forum. www.porsche.co.uk
