I suspect even if they were able to leave the rads in place they would need to remove the hoses to gain access.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Had the radiator fans on my 996TT replaced by the OPC on Thursday. Picked up the car on Thursday - no problems. On Friday under hard acceleration I touched around 230kph (143mph). I get a warning on the dash that I must check the coolant. I was close to home so I manage to get home. On the way home I can see a trail of coolant in my rear view mirror I get home and check under the car. It appears the leak is coming from the hose that joins the rhs radiator. It seems like it is from where the hose actually connects to the radiator rather than a crack in the hose. I also notice that the fan is also just above the hose. I have taken the car back to the OPC who said they will see where the problem is. I have already pointed out that I think it has something to do with the replacement of the radiator fan. Am I correct in thinking this? Are any hoses removed whilst fitting a new radiator fan?

POST 2Original post

I recently replaced all 3 rads on my tt myself... When I took them out, I removed them with the fans attached to the rear as I couldnt see how you could remove the rads and leave the fans insitu. I would think it is very likely the OPC garage would have done the same with yours. I suspect even if they were able to leave the rads in place they would need to remove the hoses to gain access. The fans and the covers are nearly the same size as the rad and there isnt much space in there...!!! Good luck. :thumb:
