Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was just wondering if anyone has fitted EBC pads green or ? to a 996 and if so how good were they? I have them on a Jag which saves a lot of wheel cleaning and I am keen on a easy life.

POST 2Original post

Michael, haven't had EBC pads on any of my Porsches but did put EBC reds on a Scooby some years back. Seemed OK on the road, little dust etc, but one outing at Castle Combe and they were destroyed! The surface of the pads looked like crazy paving. Had Ferodo after that! I imagine greens would be similar?

POST 3Original post

Hi Michael, I was talking to an EBC rep at the Autosport show the other weekend and the green pads are only for cars upto 200bhp, you would have to fit reds according to them [ ] theres been lots of discussion in the past on the 944 forum about these with mixed reviews, their site is here; http://www.ebcbrakesdirect.com/?source=googleebc&keyword=ebc&gclid=CJK829WZr5gCFQoi3godbwJ5Uw Cheers

POST 4Original post

I have a 996 owning colleague who fitted EBC Yellows - he is a pretty spirited driver. They were good for reducing brake dust, resisting fade (still with good cold bite), but did used to squeal a bit around town. Not sure what effect they had on disc life.
