Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After 2-3 months searching, and lots of questions answered here and on renntech, I took possession of a silver Targa Tip, early 2004 model with sport classic wheels, from a non-specialist dealer. 53k miles, FSH, good condition, good price and 12 months 'Autoprotect' warranty. A couple of little things to iron out, but I'm hoping she's a good 'un. When the next service is due (Oct) I plan to either 111/OPC warranty, or put it on the Hartech lifetime maintenance scheme. Thanks to all the people who answered my naive questions - I'm sure that I'll have more now I actually own my first 911. I'm based in the middle of Derbyshire - any local meets/gatherings? Peak district roads are great, btw.

POST 2Original post

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

These are all I've got at the moment (camera broken  ) I'll post something better when I've got a working camera.

POST 4Original post

Looking sharp there, Jabberwocky Wheels complement your motor too!

POST 5Original post

Looking good Jabberwocky, Great colour combo too.. :thumb: Now get out and drive her ! :drive:

POST 6Original post

Nice one Jabberwocky. I've got the same wheels on my cab. Love the look, but they're a bug@er to keep clean.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks - are they the same as yours? What's involved in repainting the centres a different colour and polishing the rims? (I was thinking of graphite centres - easier to keep looking clean)

POST 8Original post

Similar styling but not exactly the same. Mine are from here, fifth wheel down http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_mono_block_wheels_aftermarket_design.html

POST 10Original post

When I had polished rims on these wheels I found that the wheels corroded quite badly, especially around the "split". Last time I had all four corners refurbed, I had them sealed and painted. 2 years on still no sign of corrosion Though it still didn't stop the mrs scraping the rim on the pavement whilst reverse parking less than a week later

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good tip - do you mean you have them painted as one assembly, so the paint sealed the joints between the rim and centre?

POST 12Original post

No, they were still separated and sprayed, but a sealant was applied between the 2 halves on reassembly IIRC.

POST 13Original post

Nice one. Looks like a Targa you picked it. Congrats! ps- did it come with the pp in the pict?

POST 14Original post

Congrats. I see you have chosen the best colour as well  You may find that some people do not apprecite the wonder of silver   Actually pondered a Targa during my search. Enjoy and the more you drive her the more you will conclude you can never do without a 911 alan

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks No, that plate was just for show. I'll be putting my own on shortly...
