I got mine fitted for around £80 and that included some welding and some angle grinding of rusty bits.

I WD40ed everything daily for a week then used a Dreml to cut off the bolts on the cat to muffler clamping sleeve and replacing both sides took me just under 2 hours with me lying on my back and being meticulous.

I recetly purchased some Oettle Mufflers off of Ebay as recommended by some people here at PCGB (as opposed to the PSEs), but getting them fitted is another story.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there, I recetly purchased some Oettle Mufflers off of Ebay as recommended by some people here at PCGB (as opposed to the PSEs), but getting them fitted is another story. I got quoted £220 for fitment from Paramount Performance, which seems a hell of a lot for a couple of hours labour. Does anybody have any ideas on where else I can get them fitted? Cheers Paul

POST 2Original post

Any competent garage you trust would be able to fit them. I got mine fitted for around £80 and that included some welding and some angle grinding of rusty bits.

POST 3Original post

And liberal applications of wd40 daily for a few days before fitment will make life a lot easier wherever you take it.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the quick response. That's quite a slice off of £220! Since you're in London and so am I, is there any chance of dropping me a PM on which garage that was? Cheers

POST 5Original post

I WD40ed everything daily for a week then used a Dreml to cut off the bolts on the cat to muffler clamping sleeve and replacing both sides took me just under 2 hours with me lying on my back and being meticulous. I got 2 new clamping sleeves and clamps for the tips (£50 in total). All the other bolts and nuts came off with no trouble. Gives you an idea what is involved.

Thanks for the info. Just gave them a quick call but they said that they couldn't fit them. ?

POST 8Original post

Very odd. They removed mine and re-fit them (for a track day) so they certainly can fit them. Try GT One in Chertsy, they fit one for someone else on PCGB 01932 569944
