Continental Bluetooth radio- how good is the Bluetooth ?

Did a search on this site on Continental radios and found lots of good info . But not a lot being said about the quality of the Bluetooth connectivity . When looking at online comments outside of this forum there are some complaints about the BT in general . For those of you that have the Conti radio/CD how good is the BT ? Specifically with an Android phone . My 996 C4 was missing the radio when I bought it . The Conti has the look that I want but only if the quality is good . Any advice specifically about the BT connection is appreciated . Thanks

I have the CDD7416UB-OR and it has worked fine with two different Android phones. I can skip songs using the head unit controls too.

I have the no cd version and it plays music from my phone just fine. Samsung s20

Radio is great. No issues at all with BT connectivity between a couple Pixels. I didn't use the included microphone but even the mic on the unit is decent enough for a call in a pinch, even with the GT3 background noise.

I’ll give an alternative view. I have an 03 turbo with vise / most. My first attempt at replacement was t with the conti cd unit. Played and sounded okay. I wound up going back to the cdr-23 with a Bluetooth antennae takeover adapter and zero issues with streaming / skipping songs / etc. I will say phone calls on both units sucked royally. About a ,moth ago I went with a new Kenwood double din with wireless CarPlay and can’t be happier that I now have all modern conveniences and front and rear cameras. Really depends what you want it for. Oem look with good sound then go the I simple adapter route. If you are going to change the unit I’d do the double din and get all the new capabilities vs dealin* with the conti deck. Of course you could also go Pccm+ and get 7 yr old tech and capability without any wireless capability. Thx - scrh1

Apologies for bumping an old thread. I'm looking to see if any of you folks with the Continental head unit are able to get your unit to automatically switch to Bluetooth/A2DP after you stop/start your car? I find that mine always defaults to radio, and I have to manually select Bluetooth/A2DP as the source every time. Thanks in advance.

Mine stays on the bluetooth setting. Maybe its loosing its full time 12v source?

Same. Leave it on BT all the time. Great little radio. Looks good. BT works great. And even the microphone built into the faceplate works well enough with the windows up.

I put one in my '85 928. It was an excellent upgrade. No complaints.

I just bought the radio, harness and sticker. I probably just drilled some holes in the factory plastic cage to mount it. I put it in 5 years ago

I just finished an install, and can confirm the BT to Android music connection is reliable, and sounds great (I think it uses the latest BT wide-band connection?). The BT telephone connection too is reliable, with the facia mic more than adequate for on-the-go calls. No need to install the wired extension mic in other words, unless perhaps you're a road warier and spend all the time on the telephone. The lighting too is just great... recommended accordingly. You Tube

A follow up question . If you use Google maps I know you won't get the visual map but do you get the audio instructions ? I haven't done anything yet been busy with other stuff .

The google voice comes through my car speakers. U have to have google and the phones bluetooth set up correctly. I have a samsung s21

As suggested by @De Jeeper , if set up correctly (should be easy and straight forward by just connecting your device via BT to the head unit), your Android should then play all audio - telephone, music, map commentary, podcasts, live internet radio, TV, free to air radio apps, and everything else - through the BT channel to the Conti smoothly... The one above does just that. Noting similarly, this should also be a general Android car navi to BT telephone functionality. The same should also be the case for generic Android units, such as 2-DIN navi...
