I'd rather pound my head with the sharp side of a claw hammer than mess with a filter any more than to remove the dirty one, toss it, and fit a new fresh clean filter.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Good question. 282K miles out of my Boxster engine running the stock Porsche engine air filter, just changing it once in a while. How could an aftermarket filter any better? And if it flowed more air it could filter worse. Then there is the goofy clean, and re-oil ritual. I'd rather pound my head with the sharp side of a claw hammer than mess with a filter any more than to remove the dirty one, toss it, and fit a new fresh clean filter.
