Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ordered part number 94462812200 from a diagram. Doesn't seem to fit correctly.... Any ideas?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks like the rear wiper arm - ordered correctly (part number 99662804001) differs from the original.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It transpires that the cap is correct but the rear arm is technically not (even though it fits perfectly). Anybody know which cap I'd need for the newer arm?

POST 4Original post

I can't help from experience, but in the absence of any other replies, here goes. The part number beginning 944 suggests it's from a Porsche 944. That's not to say it isn't a carry over to the 996, but it'd be worth double checking. The 996 part number will be for a ... you guessed it - 996. Perhaps someone has fitted a non-996 wiper arm to your car? Is there a part number on it?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Great idea. I'll check the newer one for any part-numbers stamped on it. The newer replacement looks more like a 997 version from the diagrams... but those little ridges aren't shown in the schematic drawings.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ebay had the answer... it's a 997 variant. I can only assume that 996 pattern rear wiper arms are no longer supplied.
