I have changed the thermostat and now the water pump.

Suggestion
Naturally if you live in the cold parts of the country then you would have to adjust the coolant for your local wx needs.

I found that the right side radiator fan wasn't working, I would check the left side since it was convenient to the driver's side, but didn't bother to walk around and check the right side, assuming that if the left was working, the right side was ok as well...

As we quickly approaching summer in Los Angeles, with temps in the mid 90's I wanted to help improve cooling so I read this thread and decided to clean my radiators.

hello
I have changed the thermostat and now the water pump.
but the city road the temperature is still too high
this morning 24°C/75F indoor my temperature on average is 103°C/217F
on highway the water temperature is 94 °C/201F on average...
the water level is ok
radiators in front are clean.
fans radiators in front OK (2 speed)
has prolonged the stop in a car park,
the temperature water is 100/103°C (212/217F)
I'm confused I do not find the origin of the problem.

Have you pulled off the front fascia and cleaned out between the AC coil and the radiators? A lot of junk accumulates in there that is totally invisible when looking into the fascia openings:
All in the Porsche family. I would think they're compatible. Just meant you cant use off the shelf Prestone or something like that without checking if it works with German cars. You don't want it to coagulate or clog up or cause a problem with the aluminum cores.

Also you could dilute the coolant with distilled water, water is a better coolant that the anti-freeze. Naturally if you live in the cold parts of the country then you would have to adjust the coolant for your local wx needs.

Is your engine room fan working? I wonder what makes the Porsche coolant at $25.00 a gallon special? I've been told that the orange coolant is compatible with aluminum engines.

Wow what a shock to see approx 2lbs of leaves and trash. After the recent cleaning, I have noticed a slight temperature decrease. It does feel good to have this task complete.
I was hoping for some additional help with " how to hack " my fans systems - both Radiator and engine.
Does anybody have a step - by - step, on how to do this procedure ? ( pics nice also )
I would like to have a simple - always on solution , or if your willing to indulge in the switch method, also appreciated
I have read a few posts, on other forums, however I just don't grab the concept - or instructions.

What is the correct operating temp?
I'm not sure how accurate the dash gauge is
I thought 200-210 is normal, and that in traffic on a hot day, 205-215 or so is also normal
The dash display is both inaccurate and non linear, so it is little more than an idiot light that moves.
For a factory set up, 210 (real temp, not the displayed) would be about average on a cool day.
You should not need an 'always on' solution. Either you're not moving enough coolant (water pump) or you need more cooling capacity by adding a center radiator.
