Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'd say the bigger problem is the tank, plumbing and pan which in a car where like a handful of people have integrated a dry sump system (cough 996 Carrera), you are on your own to elect the right components and package all that ****, which was a real challenge for me at least.
Leading evidence: 'tank, plumbing and pan' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'tank, plumbing and pan' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Run similar oil pan' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I run a similar oil pan on my LS1 and havent had any issues.

I run stock height suspension for nowand hit a few speed bumps HARD without bottoming out.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

That oil pan sump is low and really far back, no speed bumps or steep inclines for that car. Probably solves the oil starvation issue until it gets a hole in it.

It lives and is hilarious.
Not to turn this into an oil thread, but with modern advancements in electronic motor controls, an electric dry sump oil pump would be cool to have in the market.
Here is one such design example
Well, Tony can actually build ****, Hoovie just does whatever he can for views. I think in the environment Tony is going to use it, the pan will be fine. If he tries to bring it on to a road course, that may be a problem but hey, its a problem the M96 has too (ask
@De Jeeper
).
I enjoyed watching the build series and have followed Tony for a long time, his time with Lucky at HRG on Motor Trend made that show fun and although Alex Taylor is hot and seems to be a great wrench, I liked the show a lot better when Tony was on.
It's good to see him having a successful YT channel doing what he likes to do, and if you don't get a kick out of the reactions of the guys experiencing LS power in a 996 - well, we are a lot different. His reaction gives some justice to just how much fun the 996 is with a bunch of power.
You would need to stack multiple of them together, dry sump systems need scavenge, 2 or more stages, as well as a pressure feed. So, you're looking at a minimum of 3 of those pumps. And really, the pump side isn't a problem with the tech thats available now (externally mounted multi stage pump driven off crank shaft). Seems kind of like looking for a solution to a non problem to me. I'd say the bigger problem is the tank, plumbing and pan which in a car where like a handful of people have integrated a dry sump system (cough 996 Carrera), you are on your own to elect the right components and package all that ****, which was a real challenge for me at least.

cool to see someone else making their own Helmholtz resonators!
The oil pan in a precarious position is non negotiable for me, been down that road before,, and my car is lowered, and I guarantee my wifes non lowered convertible would have been damaged with her driving it. It definitely takes the acceleration oil starvation away.
the dry sump pans are much shallower, but packaging the pump along with AC becomes a challenge. Theres a pan that mounts the pump on the bottom of the pan, but now its similarly hanging down as the wet sump pan above.
I have seen a few dry sump pumps mounted in other positions with AC and alternator that seem to work well enough.
of course, if you wanna mount a skid plate to it and be done, thats how we do it in the Jeep world.
