I think the silver color used 20 years ago is a little flat now, so just having them done in a modern more-metallic silver will make a difference.

Have you considered a colour change for the car instead of the wheels?

At a recommendation on here I recently bought a set of crest center caps for £20 (I think it was) on Gumtree from a guy called Martin – and I can genuinely say the quality is brilliant, whether they are quite as good as a £160 OEM set I don't know, but at an 8th the price I am very happy.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys - I'm needing to get my wheels refurbed. I know they will ask the inevitable question of "what colour would you like sir".
I'm not against the stock color, but... feels like an opportunity to make it a little different? Perhaps not anything as shocking as orange or red, but perhaps a more smoked grey rather than shiny silver?
Anyway, my question is, what colors have people gone for when having their wheels refurbed?
Photos for inspo very welcomed.
PS - anyone selling any Fuchs style wheel let yourself be heard.
Against a midnight blue with those 5 spokes I'd keep to the standard silver or maybe something a bit smokier, or if you get the right shade of gold you could maybe pull that off.

This is what I've just done.
And also fitting a set of different center-caps. Mine were plain silver and fitting caps with the crests in has added some color.
I personally am not a colored wheel fan, our other car has part black-part-polished wheels and I can't stand them.
IMO with your black car a set of newly painted silver wheels would look very smart and classy. I've actually had new black cars in the past that came with black wheels and then had the wheel refurbished in silver.
Not sure if it's a generic color but my local wheel refurber does a silver called 'BBS Silver" which is a nice modern metallic silver – this is what I had my wheels done in and it's made such a difference from the previous plain silver.
Because mine is a C4S the caps just have the C4S script and which had previously been over-painted plain silver.

The colored crest really brakes up the silver wheel and also my silver car.
Have you considered a colour change for the car instead of the wheels? Lapis is a lovely shade of blue
back to the topic though, personally I'd stick with a shade of silver, or gold, maybe weiss gold if you want to split the difference.
Take some side profile photos & overlay some different wheels to get a feel for how it might turn out.
I don't have the details unfortunately but I just did a search on Gumtree for "Porsche center caps" and its brought the same seller up (there's just the one and with 3 different colors). Its definitely the same one and actually they're £16 - not £20!!
There is a thread on here, which I started, discussing caps and like I say someone else suggested these. I thought I'd take a punt for £16 and glad I did because they look really good. I'm sure the OEM caps may be better but 10 times better I doubt it.
