Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

21 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Porsche Club GB: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This may well be my last posting as I'm not sure I will ever own another 911 but greatly enjoyed the driving my 996 C2 for the last 3 years and reading the forums over the same period. Good job they build them strong as shown by my photo - survived after aquaplaning on massive flood on A40 recently and stopped abruptly when I hit a crash barrier and bridge - now recovering with 4 cracked vertebrae. Enjoy your cars but just be careful in all this rain. Happy driving. Best wishes Simon

POST 2Original post

Sorry to hear you're leaving Porsching. Looking at the photo, seems like you were very lucky. Hope you mend a bit quicker than your car. Still, you can always repair metal. Good luck with the recovering.

POST 3Original post

Good grief Simon! I wish you a speedy and full recovery. And you may not know it, but it was your car featured in the front PU change DIY in my book.

POST 5Original post

Crikey SImon !! That looks pretty bad. Glad to see that you managed to walk away. Wishing you a speedy recovery

POST 6Original post

WOW. Photo speaks a thousand words. I know it doesn't seem it but you are one lucky man. Look forward and good luck. Regards Richard.

POST 7Original post

Wishing you a speedy recovery at least the NHS is still there for you.they are closing 5 A&E depts in northwest London !

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the get well messages everyone, I'm recovering OK. Yes, the JR in Oxford where fantastic and looked after me brilliantly.

POST 9Original post

Speedy recovery my friend. Get yourself well and then back into another 911.

POST 10Original post

Get well soon and make a swift recovery. I remember what a policeman said to me after a 2.5 tonne lorry hit my car [it was his fault], "Don't worry sir, your car can be replaced, you cannot." So true.

POST 13Original post

Glad to see you safe after that one. Hopefully your stay in the JR didnt last long enough to sample the food as its dreadful....... Do use your insurance money to buy another well built 996. Ohh and where is this spot on the A40 as I use it almost everyday...............

POST 14Original post

That looks terrible! I wish you a speedy recovery.

POST 15Original post

I do hope you make a swift recovery and are soon back behind the wheel.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was in there for 2 weeks so had plenty of chances to try and eat the food!! It was the first bridge on the dual carriageway after leaving Burford before the Witney junction - the police have asked the local council to investigate as it was so bad. Take care.

POST 17Original post

Wishing you a full recovery, not nice to see that type of thing and brings things into perspective. Main thing is you are ok.

POST 18Original post

Hope you recover swiftly. Once mended, get yourself a C4

POST 20Original post

Nasty, but good you are recovering OK. Do the physio exercises they give you! I hit a pond on the A27 near Chichester at 11.30 at night in June on my way home from holiday, on my Honda Blackbird. In the dark, on a bike, not funny. Fortunately I was only doing 60 not the 180+ its capable of and I got away with it...Easily done though with the weather as it was then

POST 21Original post

Glad you're recovering well after seeing the photo of the car. I drive the A40 on a weekly basis but was very surprised recently at how bad the drainage is on that stretch of dual-carriageway. En route to Classic Le Mans I was caught in a downpour while driving to collect my passenger in Oxford. The sitting water on the Witney bypass dual-carriageway must have been about 2 inches deep ALL THE WAY ALONG THE ROAD. [&:]
